Awkwafina Awkwafina, an American singer and actress began by releasing a humorous rap track dealing with issues related to race and sexuality. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood following the release of an album of raps. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first music experience. She played the trumpet. Alongside classical music and jazz, Nora Lum started to study hip-hop during her teens. In her studies, she majored in journalism and women's studies in college even studying Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. She turned her attention to music only after she graduated. Her My Vag song, My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a popular viral sensation via the Internet and eventually appeared on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album also included popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown New York Bitche$. The single that debuted was specifically linked to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her 2015 travel guide. A musician and author was as her credentials, she determined to pursue acting in a third project. In addition to early series that included Girl Code and Tawk - she was in films Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed several notable parts, including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released her first film In Fina We Trust.
