Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actress who is best known for her film roles as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She received an undergraduate degree in African-American Studies at Brown University, and a Master in acting at the Tisch School for the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in film, theater, and television. Her acting career started in the theater. She then appeared in numerous television shows, independent films and mainstream movies. Her most famous role was Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as in BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she won critical acclaim as well as a variety of awards and nominations, among them the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. The actress has appeared on Broadway with roles in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Coming to her movie career she is renowned for her performances in films like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. In her television work, she's received praise for her role as the regular character in ABC's cop drama High Incident.
